Mega man 11 blast man11/10/2023 ![]() Unfortunately the audio doesn’t quite hit the mark. Capcom didn’t have to add little touches like that, but they really add to the overall quality of the game. There’s also a lot of nice extra touches added in to enhance the experience: all the enemies have their own personalities, such as a screaming flaming turkey in torch man’s stage (don’t ask) and a welding robot in Impact Man’s stage which is hardworking, but also sad at what its life has become. The animations are spot on too, with Mega Man jumping and sliding just as you’d expect him to. Blast Man is set inside a carnival, Torch Man is in a forest camp, and so on there’s some really great new settings in Mega Man 11. The aesthetics specific to the different stages also fit well with their Robot Masters, and they offer quite unique themings for the series. Whilst I may prefer the detailed sprites from Mega Man 7 and 8, the graphics in the game are still pretty stunning. However, as more footage became available, I started to get used to it and even like it. I wasn’t initially sold on the visual art style, as the initial trailers gave off a very Mighty Number 9 vibe. Not that the game really needs anything more, as the series has always been more focused on the tight and fun gameplay than developing a story.įrom a visual standpoint, the game looks surprisingly good. ![]() It’s as straightforward as it comes, with no plot twists, no Proto Man, no Bass, no extra castles – nothing. From there, it’s the usual case of taking down each of the eight Robot Masters, and then heading off to the Wily Tower to stop his evil plan. The gear system makes them stronger or faster so, in order to deal with them, Mega Man needs to fit himself with that same gear system. His reputation has led the plant employees to call him the "Acid Merman" behind his back. The story of Mega Man 11 is pretty simple: Wily remembers the gear system that he worked on during his youth and decides to redevelop it and test it on a bunch of Dr Light’s robots. He never hesitates to leap into the chemical tanks to check the mixtures, in turn, making him an excellent swimmer. Ever the perfectionist, he ensures that all chemicals are measured out exactly Sloppy mixing makes him absolutely furious. In addition, he can use his Speed Gear much earlier during the fight, regardless of his HP.Īcid Man is a cutting-edge scientist robot whose field is advanced chemistry. The waves he creates when using his Speed Gear are much larger, and he fires more projectiles after leaping out of the acid pool. In the Superhero difficulty, Acid Man will fire four arcing shots instead of three, his Acid Barrier takes more hits to destroy, and he will fire much faster. Acid Man can fire a charged Acid Barrier during the second stage that requires more Buster shots to remove. Once passing underneath Mega Man, Acid Man will jump from the acid and fire a volley of acid shots downward. ![]() His position is marked by a large wave of acid that must be avoided as he moves. Acid Man will plunge into the acid pool underneath the stage and quickly move left and right. The second stage of the fight will trigger Acid Man to utilize his Speed Gear. Wait for him to pause and fire and time jumps to avoid the shots. Without the Acid Barrier, Acid Man will leap across the stage at Mega Man and pause to fire three acid shots from his arm that lightly track Mega Man's position. While Acid Man is shielded with Acid Barrier, he will fire three shots in the air that arc towards the ground. Everytime his Acid Barrier is worn down, Acid Man will be stunned momentarily, giving Mega Man a good opportunity to attack. However, one hit from a Block Dropper attack is enough to fully destroy his barrier, which also prevents it from releasing arced shots. During the first stage of the fight, Acid Man will use his Acid Barrier, which absorbs normal and charged Mega Buster shots and releases short-ranged arced shots in random direction if attacked, and therefore must be worn down by repeatedly shooting before Mega Man can do damage to him. The fight with Acid Man begins in a chamber with a pool of acid underneath the floor. His habit of spending so much time swimming in chemical vats has earned Acid Man the nickname "Acid Merman." Acid Man apparently doesn't like his nickname, as the other plant employees only ever call him that behind his back. ![]() However, he is described to be a perfectionist and will throw a tantrum if any measurement is tampered with or ruined. Originally a robot with a wide knowledge of chemistry, Acid Man spends time measuring every amount of chemicals stored inside various tanks.
